Cartier creates some of the most amazing nature and animal watches seen in the high-end-watch world. They create some of the most stunning animal watches in the world. Now, at this year’s SIHH, Cartier pulls out all the stops and brought us its art and high watchmaking collections that are breathlessly alluring. In our opionion, two of the best pieces are depictions of bears.
One features a gorgeous polar bear on frozen tundra - and takes over the dial of a 42mm Rotonde de Cartier white gold watch. The bear is crafted in incredible translucent stained-glass form, set in gold frames and all with a star-lit sky of sterling silver surrouding it.
The hours of meticulous craftsmanship that go into the making of this watch is nearly unparalleled in the industry.
In this year's collection, the other more gruff and growling brown grizzly bear is depicted in amazing marquetry wood dial that is hand-picked, finished and sanded for one of the most beautiful dials to-date in the Cartier line.
This dial is housed in a Rotonde de Cartier 42mm Jump Hour timepiece. We'll go go into more detail about it in an upcoming piece.
